Description

Enjoy a relaxed day, chipping around in a circle, learning a new skill that you could later take anywhere with minimal tools– it's the kind of craft you can enjoy on your porch, near the campfire or even in your dining room table as you create small charming wonders.

In this class we will:

* Learn the basics of whittling.

* Talk about wood, grain and how to work with them.

* Experience the tools and the different cuts.

* Create a small figurine (or two) from start to finish – from the design stage and all the way to sanding, oiling and painting (if you wish).

Whittling embraces simplicity and allows your mind to focus on the present time, a wonderful way to unwind from the week and life challenges.

No previous experience is needed for this class- you will be guided every step of the way. If you are experienced, I can help you design and tackle more complex carvings.

You will be provided with: Wood, tools and safety gloves.
As well as tea, coffee and refreshments.

Please bring: Lunch, your tools (optional), and please wear closed shoes. If you have physical challenges, please let me know and I will try to find a way to accommodate your needs. There is wheelchair access.

The class is limited to 7 people, so please book your place in advance. I am intending to run more workshops in the coming weeks, so if you miss out, please let me know and I can let you know when the next one will be.

Payment (on the day of the workshop) $150 or $120 concession - Cash, eftpos or Bank deposit
(If you really want a go, but your money is engaged somewhere else, we can work out another arrangement like barter of services or goods).
